Truck N Learn is Veteran owned! We enjoy helping our veterans.

Any military veteran who served for at least 90 days after September 10, 2001, and received an honorable discharge, is eligible for education and training opportunities through the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. You may also qualify for other VA programs that may also pay for CDL training.

Veterans can utilize their GI Bill benefits to pay for Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training at a VA-approved truck driving school, allowing them to access career opportunities in the trucking industry by covering the costs of their CDL training, including tuition, books, and licensing fees; they should ensure the school they choose is recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs to qualify for these benefits.
Key points about veterans and CDL learning:
  • GI Bill usage:
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is the primary way veterans can fund their CDL training, covering a significant portion of the costs.
  • VA-approved schools:
To use GI Bill benefits, veterans must attend a truck driving school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Eligibility:
Veterans with an honorable discharge who served for at least 90 days after September 10, 2001, are generally eligible to use their GI Bill for CDL training.
  • Potential benefits:
Some states may offer additional benefits for veterans seeking a CDL, such as waivers for certain parts of the driving test.
How to get started:
  • Check eligibility:
Contact the Veterans Affairs to confirm your eligibility for GI Bill benefits and understand the specific requirements for CDL training.
  • Research schools:
Find VA-approved truck driving schools in your area and compare their programs and costs.
  • Contact the school:
Reach out to the school's veterans' coordinator to discuss your specific needs and how to apply for the CDL program using your GI Bill.
